Quick question for y'all.
how much will i need to deposit in a Dubai bank to open an account.

also, will any banks allow me to open an account prior to me getting my residency visa?

Not sure of the deposit but you will your residency visa in order to open a bank account and also as I remember, your passport (copies).

As I recall you don't have to deposit anything in there as long as you have your company sign a form or something stating that they will direct your wages into that account. If you have your wages directed elsewhere then a sum may be required.

dont know for sure...... and i think it varies from one bank to another..... could be anywhere between AED1000 and AED5000 depending on the bank.

And yeah, u need all that paper work crap to get anything done around here..... the residence visa is ur key to the vault....literally! lol

Nothing for a basic account - you will need passport/visa copies - once ur visa is applied for - u can open the account with a company letter - also the comapny has to sign a letter of gaurantee regarding the ammount of money they willpay in!!

Its worth shopping around - especially if u plan to buy property in the future as certain banks are good mortgage providers.

Also if u can get real Emirates airmiles with the account its most beneficial - several banks give these.

If u have a HSBC account - get one here - money transfers home can be done by interenet banking.
