Driving from Q8 to Jeddah

Has anyone driven from Kuwait to Jeddah? I couldnt find an online route finder that covers saudi, but looking at a map it looks like about 800 miles. Should be able to drive that in about 6 hours. :D

Seriously though what do people reckon? A day to drive? Plus anyone know the driving distance?

I recently did Dubai-Riyadh which is 750 miles ........ but the long straight road made it easy......... from memory, I think you would have to come down the coast, then turn west at Dammam and go through Riyadh but I could be wrong so try and get more info on that. Sorry I can't be more help.

Google Earth will give you an idea of the main routes - not if they are passable though.

You know - I'm confident that they will be signed. Note, I'm not saying that the road will be signed - I'm saying that I'm confident!!

back in the day those roads wouldn't even have tarmac....

Get a good GPS. If there isn't regular traffic & gas stations, don't even consider doing the trip without a convoy...
