Driving Bahrain to Qatar and back
 

Hi. We are thinking of staying in Bahrain for the first two weeks of the World Cup in November. If so we would drive to Qatar and back three times. Any advice on if we need visas for the Saudi drive or getting into Qatar?
Also will we need PcR test for any of the three countries to get in and out?
any other advice

Uh.... why not fly? 40 minute flight. Your passport is all that is needed assuming you have UK passports.

Driving via Saudi is a huge hassle and pointless.

I thought you cannot fly direct from Bahrain to Qatar. Can you?

Ah, there was me thinking the end of the embargo meant the resuming of direct flights. Why there are now direct flights between DXB and DOH but not Bahrain and DOH I do not know.

Driving through Saudi requires complicated paperwork and it'd be involving three countries rather than just two. The drive is exceedingly dreary from all accounts. Five hours not including any delays at the border crossing, of which there would definitely be some sort of time consuming wait. Flying would be quicker. FlyDubai via Dubai, or fly via Kuwait. But I'm sure there will be some sort of price gouging during the World Cup.

If there are no flights between Manama and Doha, I've a feeling cars with Bahraini plates wouldn't be allowed into Qatar.... just a thought. Need to explore this carefully.

Thanks. Trying to explore it. I’ve got the visa situation about sorted and Bahrain has just joined the Gulf electronic visa system.
im hoping they restart flights now

Drive to Dammam and fly to doh? How difficult is it to get a tourist visa to Saudi?
