Driving to AD and Sharjah

am in dubai late this week and was thinking of driving to SHarjah and AD does anyone know how long it will take from dubai and is it worth going for shopping/food and having a look around

we have some shops in Dubai...no need to go all the way to Sharjah or AD..

Plus they are in opposite directions, so quite a round trip.
