Anyone have problems with downloading with etisalat? Im downloading torrents and only getting speeds of 10-30kbps which is crazy!

I did a line speend test and getting 7mbps

any help at all would be great as TV is rubbish here and will have to rely on downloads

I had problems before trying to download movies so gave up and asked my mate in the UK to download and put them in 'Dropbox' for me....and I have 16 mb/s Etishite.

I have been finding downloading is taking a long time the last few days, I think there must be an issue with Etisalat.

Yeh probs with etislat and of course the cables....... its just very very slow and keeps dropping out. not much you can do about it.

no issue with general browsing just downloading torrents.......

Both du and Etisalat use traffic shaping on streams at peak hours.

They can tell the difference between torrents/skype etc and regular web traffic

Mine is fine during the day just goes really slow after 9pm.

thanks for the advice guys, i left the laptop running overnight and the downloads were all complete. I do notice that some of the torrents download at 1mb for a few seconds and then drop to 100kbps and then back up again. very temperamental!

Now that Etisalat have 'officially' unblocked Skype I'm sure they'll be using the increase in Skype traffic as an excuse for network congestion and slow browsing speeds.

Facetime next apparently - hopefully it'll appear on the local phones and tablets.

It's a bold move unblocking Skype lol...what next ? unblocking dating sites
