Well the football team supported is irrelevant from the question completely so that's not helpful at all

No, it's not a high threat. Pretty safe most of the time.

I've been here 18 months. It's no more dangerous for terror threats than anywhere else. Most of the nutters come from here/are funded from here. Not massively likely to shit on their own doorstep.

Look at a map.

Measure the distance from Baghdad to Riyadh

Draw a radius of that distance from London

Ask yourself - If ISIS is on the edge of that radius, would I be worried?

You have little to worry about. That said, I was recently groped in a taxi in Jeddah... by the male driver

Oh I don't know. Taking a few local expats to practice their butchery on would actually make sense.

Regardless of where in Saudi you may be located, complacency is your personal security's enemy.

As a westerner you must always be vigilant and aware of your personal safety. Take heed in your consulates notices regarding safety.

As a woman, I have never felt uncomfortable in Saudi, but I go to Khobar in the Eastern Province however, I am mature married lady so I am largely ignored, which is fine by me.

You will be safer in Saudi than in UK.
