Doha hair & beauty salons
Been living in Doha for 2 months now, but still have no transport. Using taxis everywhere at the moment.
Need to find a GOOD salon for hair cut and waxing, that is easy to find in a taxi, i.e. in an hotel or shopping mall. Can anyone recommend one?

Re: Doha hair & beauty salons
ahhh just found this thread.
Hubby just asked me this question this morning on Skype.
In NZ, almost every street has a hairdressers, I used to laugh at how many they have out here, surely more hair dressing salons than people??
Now hubby will be needing a haircut shortly and said he hadn't seen one yet which surprised him as we are used to seeing THOUSANDS out here.
I will tell him to go to The Mall.
Cheers,

Seen Landmark ... superb! Got lost getting there. Detours mislead me and I found an area of shops, shops and more shops but couldn't tell you its name. Got shunted in the backside of the car by an impatient arab in his big 4x4 who thought I'd been waiting too long. I got out and saw no damage and literally outstared the arab before he drove off. wasn't able to find TGI Fridays (where is it?) but I did see BHS & Marks and Sparks (didn't go in as I know I will literally be spending hours and hours walking round them when Rascal arrives. I'm sure I will develop Farmersitis with them for sure ... ask R what I mean here!)
Seen Hyatt Centre. Superb too! Had a nice Beef Stirfry meal there are the chinky beside the kids zone. Forgotten its name. Found the big supermarket store there which sells everything, bit like the NZ The Warehouse but with supermarket foodstuffs too .... Landmark well impressive, 'cept I asked security guard if I could pixs of inside for the missus (Rascal you reading this?) but I was told 'no photographs' even though the spot I was taking had no people there.
Seen Royal Plaza. OK. Nice. Tidy. New and plush and posh. Very close to apartment which is on Wadi Mushereib close by Jeddah FO.
Lulu is my local! I work opposite on other side of D Ring Rd and go most lunch times to get lunch and rations (so far made QR 3250 reimbursed flight money last ... got QR 1650 left after three weeks). A NO-NO is shopping at Thursday night as it FULL of thousands of people jam packed hussle bustle trolleys in every direction. No room to move or breath. Products grabbed from your hand when you pick them up. :scared: Scary!
Been to Food Palace at Jeddah FO beside Home World. Fairly cheap but limited stock and full of Sri Lankans and Indians. I have nothing against them but it is the first place I've been stared at like I'm out of place. FP is good for cheap utensils and toiletries and stationery and electrical goods etc. It has a section dedicated to these items ... but limited on most food stuffs. However it has a brilliant spices section and a brilliant salad and veg section.
(where is hair salons in all of this?)
Seen hair salons too on my travels but cant say where. Hair getting a little long now ... will try petrol station for a No2 or No3!! (Yes R you've read it first here. I'm planning to go real SHORT! I can tolerate the heat without a problem. NO issue with the temperature at all, just that when I sweat hair gets wet and perspiration runs down into eyes/hair looks mess etc etc. If I have it cut short I will still look professional minus the wet sweaty hair! Ritual will take place not this weekend but the next one or maybe after 24th so it can be witnessed by R and the event broadcast on the internet as a significant event as it will be the shortest I've ever had it.
Maybe we could start a sponsored Rascalmate haircut? All funds for a chosen good cause? Views please. Think no hair will match me designer Souq sunnies better than bedraggled sweaty messy hair eh? Mind you still not bought the sunnies yet ...!!!
