When I was in Bahrain the only nice beach was in the Ritz and was quite dear. The other option was Novotel but it was a bit crappy and the sea around Bahrain is generally crap. There was a marina club south of the Island but has deteriorated quite a bit.

In Jeddah we have recently had the honour to get access to a nice private resort and the beach / sea is immaculate. My wife says it compares to some beaches in Maldives (minus the mobile coctail service unfortunately). But they are quite selective in who they admit.

To go to the Intercon for a non member it's 250 QAR each . That get's you a towel and that's about it .

It can be a pretty expensive day at the beach for me and the missus when you throw in a few beers and a bit of lunch .

banned indefinitely. 3 restaurants have closed, Gordon Ramsey cannot last. QDC opened on monday and closed one hour later due to "technical difficulties" The development has peaked and is now in decline.

I like the Intercon's beach and pool - nice and clean, with an in-pool bar. Worked out at QR4500 for the month for my family of 5, which I thought was pretty reasonable and includes the gym, sauna etc.

The new St. Regis Hotel next door looks good, must give it a try this Summer.

It's pretty poor to be honest and it's in a horrendous location down past Messiaed . The drive down past Qapco and The Industrial City is not the best on the eye .

Pretty mediocre , loads of Lebo's smashing Vodka and dancing to Euro Pop !

St Regis looks fantastic to be honest and there's two new Ramsay Restaurants in there plus a Hakkasan as well . There's also a new beach bar called Oyster to be opened .

The F&B doesn't all come online until the next 2 months . Will be a welcome addition to the ' Doha social scene ' as they say

I heard Maze is on it's last legs . Megu and Tse Yang have imploded due to the ban .

Shame about Maze though , i thought it was the best restaurant in Doha and it's in a cracking location .

Lebanese

Generally regarded as greasy-haired, over-dressed perverts.

Prey on young western women, luring them to their homes for a night of terrible love making with fake Armani V-neck t-shirts, fake gold watches and hundreds of compliments...

They love that sort of shit.

Just don't leave your mrs unattended in a bar whilst you piss.

I came back to two of them chatting to her, I overheard her telling them that she wasn't interested and she didn't want any of their "rape drinks". Was absolutely pissing myself.

Funny thing is you tell them to **** off and they......don't.
