Default Doha - Ain Khalid Gate compound

Hi to all,

I have accepted a job and will be moving out to Doha at the end of the month. I have been pushing for a housing allowance over accommodation and despite my best efforts believe I will have to accept company accommodation as each level of management it is escalated to pushes back.

My question is can anyone give me any info or pictures of Ain Khaled Gate compound? They will be putting me in a 3 bed apartment (if I don't get my way). I have googled it to death and not really found any detailed info or images.

Any info would be gratefully received!

Google Maps will give you as good an impression as any -http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=doha...src=6&t=h&z=14

Looks like you've got a decent sized pool & tennis court. Sorry can't be more helpful as I've got the pleasure of living up in Ras Laffan

Have look at Qatarliving.com - I'm sure there will be people there who know it. Do you work for Qatar Air?

You'll be ok , it's a good compound in the right area of the city , well if there is a right area . Qatar Airways use it i think and Q.P

You won't have any worries there your 5 mins away from the Villaggio Mall and the Hyatt Plaza shopping centers and a 10min drive to the Ramada Plaza and La Cigale Hotels.

The only downside is that they're constructing a new 6 lane interchange highway through that same area and traffic is a nightmare but traffic is a nightmare all over this hell hole.

Many thanks for your thoughts, it helps having a "locals" view on the compound!

Anyone have any thoughts on Alradan 5 over next to Doha Zoo - I had a look over there today and the properties looked excellent. Distance wise to West Bay is my headache but as I have not yet managed to check out the rush hour for this journey not quite sure how bad it will be. The wife will be working in West Bay but I will be in Al Saad.

Many Thanks.
