Dogs and Driving
Hi Guys
This has probably been done to death, but here goes anyway. I'm thinking of moving out to Dubai and have two questions: -
1 - Seriously what's it like driving in Dubai?
2 - Would my two big dogs like it?
Cheers in advance.

can your dogs drive?
driving is shocking here but you get used to it, it isn't the end of the world and wouldn't stop me from living here.

I don't worry about driving here - just employ defensive techniques and have great music to play in all of those jams...
Good Luck!

Re: Dogs and Driving
Third most dangerous place to drive in the world (in terms of deaths per km of road), behind Saudi and Oman. Drivers here are extremely selfish and arrogant.
As BC says, you just have to get used to it, drive *extremely* defensively, and do other drivers' thinking for them. You'll soon have plenty of near-death experiences to relate
Dubai's not very dog-friendly, sadly. There's nowhere you can let dogs run free in public (they've supposedly been talking about building "dog parks" for years now), although some people take their dogs to the beach very early in the morning, when they're unlikely to be seen by the police - and then there's the summer heat, which can be a real problem for large, thick-coated breeds.
If you're set on bringing two big dogs, your only choice of accommodation is going to be a villa with a garden, which is going to cost you plenty, so make sure you've got that covered.

Cheers guys.
From what I've read should AED 15,000 / month get me a villa? and should AED 10,000 - 15,000 / month cover my lving expenses?

If you want a bigger villa with a big garden for the dogs you'll really need to be looking at 20k a month and upwards. In the 20k-plus price bracket you'll also probably find a place much more quickly and easily; there's less competition for places at that price.
