Dogs in Discovery Gardens- Dubai

Hi there,
Please can you help i am planning to relocate shortly with my dog but it says no pets on the sign in the lobby. The woman next door I know has a cat, but obviously it doesnt need walking. When i was last there i saw 4 dogs being walked on the land next door, does anyone know anyone who has a dog there or how stringent nakheel are on the rules please?

I CANT/WONT leave him behind!!!

Quite frankly, given the cultural hatred of dogs by many Arab Muslims and the oppressive weather, I would never consider keeping a dog here in the Middle East. Sorry to be unhelpful but c'est la vie.

But lots of people do and the dogs do fine. You need to check your tenancy agreement re the pet thing, if it says no pets on that then you will probably have problems. It only takes one complaint - which is usually about the dogs using the elevator.

Thank you Nic. That wont be a propblem as I have a fire escape right opposite my door so was planning to get him in and out the back way, mainly when dark. Just as a short term measure till i find somewhere more dog friendly anyway. Going out next week to suss it all out again and will read the contract too.

I know a girl who had a family dog and the arab guy next door shot it in the eye over the fence.

Yeh, but that happens in UK as well. The biggest problem is if your dog barks a lot. I love dogs, but if the dog next door but one barks all night again . . . :)
