Hello!

My husband will be moving in 2 months and me and my toddler will join him soon after. He will be working in Rabigh, so will be commuting from Jeddah every day! Does any one have any experience of this?

Does any one know any good family british compounds with a great social life and a pool and gym, near to the mall, and an excellent pre-nursery!! Sorry to be hogging your post:)

We have lived in Dubai so the culture shock should be okay hopefully - but it is important we live in the right compound!

Arabian Homes used to be good - but I left Jeddah in 2002 for the duller towns on the West Coast (of KSA not USA !)

Good place for community information and contacts in Jeddah is the BCL (British Community Library) located in the British Consulate, near the Bilad Hotel. Membership is open to British Passport Holders. Guest membershpi open to other nationalities by invitation. (Depends on your nationality ! Saudis are not permitted to become members.)

i'm looking into Arabian Homes and will check out the British consulate once we get to jeddah which for me and my son will not be for at least 3 months!

Thank you, I think British School is close to the compound too. I hope it does not add to the commute Rabigh to extensively!
