Document Attestation Advice
All,
I am hoping for some feedback please. I am keen to work in the UAE and have been job hunting for a while. I had to turn down a job offer lately because the employer wanted me to move within a month which unfortunately I could not manage due to notice period here, documentation requirement etc. However this has made me realise that in order to get ahead of game I want to sort out some of documents now so when opportunity comes I am ready. Here are my questions
1) I have bachelors and masters degree in engineering, would I be required to get both attested from FCO and UAE embassy or only the highest degree?
2) Is there any issue with date of attestation, for example if I get my documents attested now and have to present to employer in 6 months time?
Thanks for reading and look forward to some insight.
Thanks in advance,
Gona.

Hi Gona
It is a good idea to go with an agent unless you live in London...there is a lot of to-ing and fro-ing required. Ablecan is a good one and they go to the Attache and the Embassy for you. You can send the documents to the FCO yourself and it will cost you a lot less.
Good luck

Thanks nemom,
I have been led to believe that it is right pain but has to be done. I will consider using the company you have mentioned as I am no way near London. Though need to know which degree to get attested. I would have done
both at same time but my bachelors degree is not from UK,hence the question.

Attestaion has to be done through the country of origin of the document being attested. You cannot have an Indian degree attested by UK authorities.

Get them both done. You have to realise the Middle East specialises in box ticking. As such why risk someone asking why you haven't got you degree attested when all it would take is for you to send them both off and not just one.
You'll soon learn that a bit of extra cash can save a lot of effort down the line.
As the SAS say PPPPPP.
