within 5 to 6 days of the start of the month, but most of the delay seems to be caused by transferring the money off shore, if i had local accounts i am sure this would be fine.

When I was there (construction cost consultant also) I was never paid on time, but it was almost always sorted within a week or so. They had to chase sponsors for signatures and such like.

Mr Kitty was employed by an international consultancy in the construction industry. In the 2 years her was there, he got paid on time 3 times - a few times it rolled over into the next month too.

Re: Do you get paid on time?
I invoiced a company on the 1st of Dec 2011 for a new years eve contract i had. The due date was the 1st of Jan 2012. So invoiced in plenty time. I finally received the cheque on the 17th of January. After chasing them daily. I had paid all the artists and equipment hire company. So no one was inconvienced except me but it was a substantial amount to pay out to cover all. When i received the cheque it was dated the 5th of Dec 2011. So it sat in someones drawer for over 40days!!!!!
I also work freelance on a sunday, and they are constantly late in paying me. I should receive the cheque on the 1st. Without fail they call on the 7th to say i can collect the cheque. My main salary is always in the bank on time i must add which is a shock.

Re: Do you get paid on time?
Is that what you call your lot these days?
Me - always on the 25th of the current month (they get hammered by the regulator if they are ever late - never late so far). If the 25th falls on a Fri or Sat, I get it on the Thurs.
Slightly off-topic: I'm not allowed to receive my salary into a JOINT bank account - apparently there was a complicated lawsuit a while back where the wife had access to her husband's salary through a joint account; she transferred all the money to God knows where within five minutes of him being paid, and the hubby claimed his employer hadn't taken reasonable care etc to make sure HE received his salary. Not sure if this applies to everyone in all professions?
