Difficult Choices
Big decision to make now. Newly arrived and got my visas sorted, villa arranged and car delivered. Now i need to organise a tv package, but which one?
I was in one of the malls the other day browsing when the showtime guy came to me, The conversation kinda went like this "I know you, you want to see Coronation Street." "No" "You're English, then you must want Only Fools and Horses" "No" "Then you want American dramas" "No" "What do you want?" "English Football and cricket" "We don't provide that but can give you access to that, but you need to sign up to our Sports package first" At which point i just walked away. I want to know what the deal is, do i have to sign up with Showtime to get access or do i need Orbit or someone else? Anyone got any suggestion? the only bit of home TV i want is premiership footballl and the England internationals. I get the impression from reading some other posts that the rights keep moving around. Can i get them or can someone suggest the best bar to meet in when Rooney is dancing his way towards Berlin. |

Please kindly tell me and the good gentleman what the names of the 90 channels are and also tell him to ask the shop which of these 90 channels are from digitial or analogue signal transponders as this will affect the reception quality of the picture on Free To Air viewing. Regards Peter |

The first option is only OK for people who understand French. For the second option it will be Arabic / English selection of viewing then the gentleman should go to someones house or even ask in the shop to view the channels first before he buys the satellite package. Regards Peter. |

Regards Peter. If its football then it is shown on Dubai Sports, unless if there is no monopoly on live transmission. He can easily go the Souq and they can give him whatever he needs. |

Actually, I am chufffed that they did not "Pre-arrange" to have a TV package ready with the remote set to "BlowmecauseIhaveavilla" channel on the "DumExpat" Satellite. Welcome to Doobay where Geezers turn to Chavs. |

I signed up to Showtime, not a big football fan but usually has the rugby on...if you are only interested in a few specific games I would try the pub. The Dubliner (Meridien Village) is not bad for sport. |
Re: Difficult Choices
