People who ride scooters to work.
Pros - MUCH Cheaper than a careem each way. - Less sweaty than walking, better than wearing trainers to walk in. - Faster than careem / walking. - More environmentally friendly. - No hassle, always available, no bookings needed. Cons - Potentially look like a prick. |

Yeah, exactly.
I did a pros and cons list for this situation: Pros - MUCH Cheaper than a careem each way. - Less sweaty than walking, better than wearing trainers to walk in. - Faster than careem / walking. - More environmentally friendly. - No hassle, always available, no bookings needed. Cons - Potentially look like a prick. |
Re: DIFC & Offices
Fitness First DIFC is closing down. Now that's a massive unit.
Literally, no reason for me to come to the office anymore... and I only come every 10 weeks or so as it is due to our stupid 10% capacity rota. |

Good list. Only the word "potentially" is out of place, move from con to pre-fix the environmentally friendly bit.
I stuck the environmental bit in because I'm not in a Careem which may or may not be hybrid but is unlikely to be driven in a 'hybrid' manner for a short journey. I imagine the plastic involved in the manufacturing is not great, I also don't know what their power source for re-charging is, but the app says they're 'climate neutral'. I'm taking that as an honest assessment, obviously. I do feel like a bit of a noddy on it, but ultimately, who gives a **** what some person in a car or on a walk thinks I look like. I'm getting to work in under 6 minutes on a scooter and enjoying it as a bit of fun each day.

Re: DIFC & Offices
We had an internal survey asking employees for how they would prefer to work in a post-covid world. A full 40% said they wanted to continue working from home and only come into the office as needed. Only 5% wanted to come in every day. The rest wanted to come in anywhere from 1-4 days a week. The thumping majority either wanted to WFH full time or only come into the office 1-2 times a week.
We're a pretty big firm. I doubt we're returning to the old ways of working in the office full time, especially as flexible working arrangements and WFH was already the trend before COVID hit. |

I'd do similar if I was close to the office - it's just so easy. Though I'd probably go for a proper geared small capacity motorbike than a scooter - that potentially would make me look like a bigger prick
