Hi there, I was wondering if someone can help me with attesting my degree certificate from the Saudi Cultural Bureau in the UK.


- Do they accept photocopies of the certificate instead of the original?
- Do I need to sign the photocopy from FCO or solicitor?
- How much does it cost?


I just don't want to stamp my original certificate!

Get a photocopy of your certificate notarised by a solicitor (take the original plus copy to the solicitor for him to stamp and sign the copy).

Then send the notarised copy to FCO for them to legalise it.

Thanks for that, but the employer has asked me to attest the certificate from Saudi Cultural Bureau in the UK not from the FCO, that's why I am confused, as it seems there are two ways of doing that!

Hi, if it's anything like Qatar then you need 4 stamps on a copy of your certificate:

UK Solicitor ---> UK FCO -----> Saudi Embassay (or SCB?) in UK -----> Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in KSA.

There are good specialist Companies in the UK that will get the first three stamps for you and deliver the certificate to you anywhere in the world for £288 all-in and can be done in a week (2-3 days in you are still in the UK).

I don't have the originals, they got packed up and put into a container back in the UK for storage (by mistake!) but, from what I've read of your posts, a colour print of the scans I have will do? If not, will these specialised companies request originals of my BTEC Diploma instead?

Would you be willing to point me in the direction of a company please? £288 would be a bargain in my book to save the time and hassle of my wife back in the UK doing it all. edit: If you can, I'd be more than grateful and happy to meet you and buy you a thank you beer!!!

i got mine done from http://www.harleymedvisa.co.uk/ they got tested from Saudi Embassy, Uni certificate on photocopy and marriage certificate they did on back of the original one.

thanks for that, I assume you took your wife/family with you, so did you all travel together or you went there first and then they followed you?


I'm struggling of taking my wife and baby with me, and they employer keeps saying that it's up to the Embassy to decide if they will issue visa for wife and baby to go all at same time or they issue for myself first then I need to apply to bring them over.

Any help on this issue?

Sorry for late replay i came on 15 Dec and my wife join me on 7th jan. it could be earlier delayed due to xmas holiday.

when you come you have to get your ID(iQAMA) sorted by employer. after that you can apply for family visa which your employer should apply for you or you can do it by ur self. which takes day or 2 to process and then 3 days for Saudi embassy to process. let me know if you need more help, Where you coming in Saudi.

When you stamped your Uni. certificate, did they ask for the original one? or you just send them scanned copy?
