Your mum might want to read this. And it is likely to change. Speaking to my wife earlier, looks like nightlife will be shutting down soon too.

People in Bangkok already stockpiling, and these are the minority with money to do so.

There's a link here to the Thai ministry of public health website.

https://ddc.moph.go.th/viralpneumonia/eng/situation.php

Have a look at the situation on the first page C.urrently nearly 2000 patients under investigation in hospital for viral pneumonia. Gone up by 500 since yesterday. Make of that what you will.

Further flight restrictions for Qatar. No incoming flights other than transit or freight for 14 days from Wednesday. Unless you’re a Qatari citizen...

Probably subject to change without notice at any time.

That is just nuts, to travel anywhere, espeically to Asia , at this time. Sister's family had planned to vacation in the Caribbean for Spring Break , but cancelled now. Everyone coming into the major American international airports here are funneled into a sardine can line of cheek to jowl people waiting for 8+ hours to get through. Perfect recipe to spread the infection around. The US gov. really mucked it all up. Should have looked at Italy and been proactive long ago.

Thanks for sharing, some conflicting info out there at the moment.

Last night managed to get her to agree to cancel, this morning sounds like there's some more work to do.

The covid numbers are wrong: the quoted figure is the average daily death toll since the start of the outbreak. The actually daily death count is now in the 600+ range.
Currently, you're more likely to die from covid, if you've caught it, than you're likely to die in a car crash, if you get in a car.

I also understand that it has a 100% fatality rate among those that have died from it.

They've both agreed it's a non-starter. It'll be out of their control soon anyway.
Mother needs to speak to EK to work a deal, she's flown bizzo, so has 3 more 'legs' but only 1.5 flights left, so getting one home and then arrange the extra 2 legs to be another trip here in October is proving complicated online.

Seen about the bars. All sensible moves ultimately.

Some twat woman in a lift yesterday made jokes about the guy she was with coughing. Couple of people scrambled out the lift, they thought it was hilarious. Pair of bellends.

Look on the bright side, Corbyn will be locked-down soon.

The bar closure in Abu Dhabi lasted one day, seems like they're all open again. Same with the closures of public parks, lasted one day.

ANYONE planning to come to Thailand at the moment, furgedaboutit !!!

First thing you'll need is a Dr cert, issued within the previous 3 days, that you are virus free, and still likely to have to do 14 day self isolation.

I was driving in central Bangkok earlier today, absolute beauty, almost no traffic.

Expecting all entertainment places and anywhere likely to be more than 50 people to be closed except maybe supermarkets.
