Default Cost of living question

Hi all - my husband has been offered work in Doha. We have two children and are settled where we are at present, so we plan for him to take the job for a couple of years (great experience and salary) and for us to fly out to see him/him to fly back as often as possible. We obviously know how much we need for a reasonable lifestyle here, but we're wondering whether the offer he has is going to work with him paying for accommodation etc in Doha. After he has sent money home to us he'll have around 18,000 to 20,000 QAR himself per month to survive in Doha - is this enough for a single guy (accommodation, food, utilities etc)? We got a nasty shock when we left the UK for Australia, despite doing a lot of research, and I figure 'speaking' to people who've made the move is always preferable. I know that accommodation will probably be around 8,000 QAR. Thanks for any replies.

Sounds fine to live on, though it'll go quick if he's taking the cost of flights (to UK or Oz?) out of it on any regular basis
