Cost of living in Dubai

Re: Cost of living in Dubai
We go out once or twice a week (often using the Entertainer vouchers), neither of us drink much but if we do it tends to be at home as one of us is usually driving - my tipple is champagne so we don't hold back if we fancy it, there is always beer, wine and spirits in the house.
We aren't stingy, just careful. We own 3 homes in the UK and our mortgages total only £45,000 so as you can see we are good with our money.
Our life isn't on hold till reitrement, we enjoy our lifestyle here and we enjoy our holidays even more.

Re: Cost of living in Dubai
We have mortgage here, car loan, service charges and a baby, and we still manage to save a whole lot more here than we could back in the UK.
The initial set up in Dubai was quite pricey, with charges and desposits for this and that coming from nowhere, but almost 2 years down the line we are more settled, know what to expect and have some money set aside to cope with anything out of the ordinary that crops up here.
We've often thought that we could have done things differently here (cheaper car, bought a smaller apartment, or rented) and would be saving considerably more. But, ultimately, we work our butts off through the week, and its great to be seeing some reward for our effort now rather than waiting until retirement, while still putting some aside so that we can continue to enjoy life when we no longer need to work.
As has been said, its all about your lifestyle.
