Considering moving to Dubai

Hello Everyone,

Found this forum a while back, only registered recently. I'm considering moving to Dubai but would love to have some suggestions. I grew up and went to school in RAK and my parents have been working there for the past 30 years but I never found the UAE an attractive place to work because of the blatant racism and pathetic salaries given to Indians, yes I'm of Indian origin. After my school,I did my 1st degree in India and then went to Dundee in Scotland to do my MBA(Marketing) and a further PG Diploma in Entrepreneurship. I tried my hand at setting up business in Scotland and I also stood for local elections representing the Tories. Well some of you may raise your eyebrows but yes, I'm still a Conservative party member. I loved the UK but my business degree or a management job did not quite make the mark to qualify for a work permit as it was not a 'specialised skill' job. At the moment I'm in New Delhi but I'm considering moving to Dubai if I get an opportunity to work in a Brit-run company and if I'm judged by the merits of my potential & work as well as the quality of my character rather than the color of my skin and the passport I hold. Appreciate your inputs. Cheers

Not sure how being a member of the Conservative party has any relevence...wiser to keep politics out of the equation in my view.

The colour of your skin is going to matter here.... it is an inherently racist society. That said, if you can play the Indian Mafia card as well as the Brit card, you can work it to your advantage.....

What's wrong with Delhi, tho? Thought India was booming these days????
