Re: Compounds in Riyadh, KSA
I hate to say this, as you know I am rather new to this. What is IQAMA? I think its something to do with a visa. I have a 6 month, multiple entry business visa at this time.
Regards Billy. |

Regards Billy. you should get one of these after your 6 months business visa expires. Your 6 month business visa as your may know you have to leave saudi every month and do a weekend in Bahrain /Qatar /UAE and return and you get re stamped as you re enter the magic kingdom. |
Re: Compounds in Riyadh, KSA
May I just say, that you have been possibly the biggest help in all this important information since I arrived, thank you so much. I didnt realise that about the 30 days thing, but I will now look into it.
If I got the company I am working for to get me the villa in a compound, but in their name, which they are in the process of doing, would I be right in thinking I would not need this Iqama? (Also my company havent asked me for one) Finally, can I have a beer in a compound? No hard spirits, just a few beers after work at the end of a week kinda stuff? Regards Billy. |

Re: Compounds in Riyadh, KSA
Hi again, sorry for the delay. My email is billy1000 @ hotmail.com and my mobile here is 05685 85076, not too sure what number you need to dial from abroad, I think its +9661 then my number, or +9661 my number but remove the zero.
anyway Please drop me a line. Also, now as I have looked into this, I have a new headache. I am working in Riyadh. My visa is 6months multi entry business visa. My firm will happily put their name on the rental agreement for a compound, so no real problem there. However, back in the UK, I live with my partner, and our two young children. I say partner, because we are not legally married. This is a pretty normal thing in europe and the USA. What issues will this present me with, when I wish to bring them over to stay with me in Saudi Arabia? Can I do this bearing in mind we are not married. Billy. |

Simple answer is NO. you can not sponser your partner or children.
- Would have to be married - Would need an Iqama, can't be done on a business visa |
Re: Compounds in Riyadh, KSA
Hi again, and thanks for the info guys. OK, so clearly, if I want my partner and kids over to join me in Saudi, I need to marry her.
I dont really want to marry her in the UK, has tax implications. We are both muslim, so, can I marry her in KSA in a muslim court or something? You may not have the answer on this one, but I thought I would just ask Billy. |

Hi,
I have just got into Riyadh to work. I am currently staying at the Novotel, but I need to bring my wife and children over from the uk. I have looked into the Compounds, and they seem ideal. The likes of Arizona, Kingdom, Al-Hamra, etc I am informed are amongst the best. However, I have tried them and about 8 others. ALL of them are full, and have waiting lists over 12 months long, and those lists are closed, so you cant get on them. I was hoping to bring my family over next month, but I just cant get into a compound. Does anyone know how I can somehow influence these compounds into letting me in as a residence. I am told that they do have availability, but will only give it to those that have been put forward by people of influence. Anyway, can anyone offer ANY help to my situation. All I want to do is get a safe, environment in a good compound, for me and my family whilst I am in Riyadh. I would be greatful for some help please Billy. When you do telephone the compounds up YES they will say sorry we are full and the waiting list is full / closed. Now when you can get out and about with a tight wad of cash in your hand. Out here Money talks bigggggg time ok. YOU are going to get out, A compound place will rarely turn up out of the blue. __________________ watch free movies online |

You need to be married to obtain her a visa to enter the magic kingdom How you can get married in Sharia law yes you can. But see rule number 1 above. |

The answer is yes and no.
You need to be married to obtain her a visa to enter the magic kingdom How you can get married in Sharia law yes you can. But see rule number 1 above. She will not get into the Kingdom, at all, ever, not even for a visit, unless she is already married to you and you sponsor her. (Unless of course she can arrange a visa through her employer, which is unlikely to be easy - if she even is employed.) You cannot marry her in the Kingdom in absentia. |
Re: Compounds in Riyadh, KSA
Thank you, yes that is much clearer.
So, here is where I am. I need to marry my partner, in order to bring her to KSA. But I dont want to do it formally in the UK if I can help it. So, what are my options here. 1) I thought I could marry her in KSA, but that is clearly impossible due to getting her into KSA as a non-married person. 2) Get married in UK, but I dont want to do that for tax reasons, not yet anyway. 3) Get married elsewhere.... Maybe this could be a solution. If we were to travel to say Dubai, and get married in a muslim court there, would that certificate they gave us be recognised in KSA? Should I get that marriage certificate in arabic rather than english? How long would that complete process take? Anyone know what that process for getting married in Dubai is? 4) Any other options? Any thoughts anyone? Billy. |
