Golbang (consisting of seven exile-iranians and one swede) has brought with them musical memories from their homecountry, and at the same time kept a window open for other influnces. Elctronical keyboards interplays with western and arabian drums.
Two folksongs, one from Sweden, the other one from Afghanistan harmonizes perfectly.
The rest of the melodies, old and new originates from Iran. The word “golbang means the nightinglaes song in persian. But Golbang could easily be used to describe the singer Rostam Mirlasharis voice; soft yet rythmic, softly and gently swaying.
Abdul Rahman Surizehis benjo jingles like a zither….until he turns the power on and makes the benjo sound like an electronical guitar!! Oriental sounds comes out from Daniel Carlssons saxophone. This is one of the best bands in Sweden- all categories! –But to most people Golbang is a secret. So far that is."

Golbang plays both traditional and modern Iranian folk music. On their new CD "Saali nó" they have also added a Swedish touch. The unique meeting between the Orient and Scandinavia is nothing less than magic.

An important part of Golbang’s music is improvisation, which very much contributes to the unique sound. Another equally important part is the variety of rhythms. Music is supposed to mirror the soul of the performer and the rhythms can, and should, evolve into completely new forms. The charasteristics depend on who is the interpreter. Golbang is in many ways a reflexion of the eight participants in the group and every song can be performed in at least eight different ways. Therefore every show with Golbang is a new and fresh musical experience.

Or as one listener enthusiastically said: »I´ve heard a lot of great oriental music, but nothing has been like your music. It is completely captivating and I even got goosebumps!«

The word »Golbang« is a Persian word which refers to the nightingale’s song. Nothing could be more appropriate, since Golbang gathers and unites people from all parts of the world with the most universal language of them all: music.

Just came from the Mariah Carey concert yesterday night. It was quite nice, thank god I got VIP tickets this time, or else I would have seen dots moving side to side. Really good to hear her live singing her famous songs like, always be my baby, fantasy, and hero.

So is the Golbang album releasing soon or are they coming to perform here?

I really can't stand her! I went to the Concert of Whitney... my only opinion would be "You are Right you should give up singing"

The Golgang album is going to realesed first and later they will do a concert for which the tickets will be SOLD with discretion. They play real fine world music! I have all their albums and Dvd's which i ordered thru their site.
