City Compound - Tubli
Still stuck in hotel after no luck with house hunting, went to see a really nice place in the City compound, infinity pool was great, I noticed a slight smell though, it was ever so slight but when I mentioned it to someone in work they said it was beside a sewage plant  Anyone have anymore info about this, does it get really bad out there?

Re: City Compound - Tubli
Tubli is for the old timers, near the old map of Bahrain. If you don't know that, the McDonalds & Yum Yum Tree on the Highway opposite of Zinj..
Tubli can be quite aromatic at times but they seem to be getting the smell under control recently. The Sewerage Treatment Plant is in Tubli, but more back towards Isa Town way near the Industrial Area. |
Re: City Compound - Tubli
Just my 2p's worth. Tubli is the home of Bahrain's sewage plant and STINKS in summer. The sea around there is dead and also adds to the fragrance.
We have just had our rent hiked massively and are moving. It's not that we can't afford the rise but the house and services are not worth the new price. Get a 2 year contract with "diplomatic clause" so you don't have to pay full if you get laid off. The council are laying sewar pipes all over the island so ask if has been completed in the area you are looking at. The roads around Saar were dug up about 2 years ago and still not finished! Our lovely wives, mine included, in their 4 wheel drives think it great fun to go tear arsing down the now dirt tracks kicking up as much dust as possible! P.M. me and I'll give you the number of the agent who fixed us up with a great house and a decent landlord. |
