yup, apparently you won't need an NOC to leave your company and go elsewhere.

yes these 'rumours' were floating around about a month ago, but they arent rumours i dont think, changes that you dont need a noc to transfer just signature of both companies etc.

"Signature of both companies" is that not the same as an NOC?

my wife is a recruitment manager, a lot of her staff are getting ready to leave, she has a government relations guy who tells her this is all true.

well maybe they can still make life difficult, I'm not sure but I guess your manager sings rather than it all going through HR, who as we know in this country, are nothing short of appalling.

I don't see any difference since the company still has to sign. This means they can still ban the employee if they want. How is it becoming easier or am I missing something?

That's what I've been wondering. It sounds like you still need to get permission to leave your existing company without penalty, and the company can withhold that permission if it wants to. So how is that materially different from the current system? How does it make things easier for an employee to change jobs?

Unless there's a major element of all this that's not been reported up till now, it seems to be a case of meet the new rule, same as the old rule.
