I am buying a used car and want to get it checked before buying. Not the gov't required check- I want a full check to ensure it's not a lemon.

The problem is all the shops that I can find are in Mussaffah and the seller refuses to go out there.

Does anyone know of a reputable shop on-island?

I honestly don't know if he is still there but Missak Motors used to be reputable.

Run by an Armenian/Lebanese called Mike the Mechanic.

All the old school Brit expats used to use him.
