Car dented - who do I call?
 

Some b***er has scratched and dented my car whilst it is parked and not left a note. I believe I need to report it to the police but it's not 'bad' and I don't think it worth calling 999 - anyone know who I need to call?

Before you can file a claim with your insurance provider, you'll need to get a police report, which you can obtain right here.

This isn't something you can get over the phone - you need to visit the cop shop in person.
Don't forget your passport, and copies of visa & passport.
Allow 2 hours for the whole ordeal.

When I was bumped in the rear, the traffic cops at Bur Dubai Police Station kept me all of 15 minutes. Mind you that was in mid-April and bloody AXA Insurance still haven't got the damage fixed.:frown:

Hello Mate,

Trust me if its a minor issue such as a dent dont waste your time with the insurance. They take donkey years and a millenium ahead of a time, its frustrating.

Best thing is pop down to Sharjah, its cheap.

I know a local garage here, good friends. Their labour charges are somewhat around 200 dhs. In your case it depends on the damage, so if your interested i can provide further info.

What kinda motor have u got?

p.s. one more thing, if its minor damage you only need to report it to the cops to:

a: maybe with the help of CCTV find the perpertrators
b: to get a police report in order to file for insurance!

If it were me, id toss it, and run down to the cheapest garage!
