Can you get married in uae and would it be recognised ?
Me and my partner have been together for 9 years and have been engaged for a year .She has been offered a job and of course I will be going with her.We are now worried that you have to be married to live with each other. Would it be possible to have a arab wedding in uae and would it be valid ?

What do you mean by an 'Arab' wedding? Valid for whom?
Getting married before you go would be a better plan I suspect.

Cohabiting in the UAE without being married is not a good idea. Why not get married before you go ? Is there "an impediment to marriage" ? ie are either of you still married to someone else ?

Yes you can get married here although it is not termed an "Arab Wedding"
Friends of mine ( UK nationals) married here ( Hotels and churches) and it is all valid

I guess you could do an Arab wedding in the UK these days. All you need to do is drag it out for ages, separate the men and the women for most of the time and fire a few shots from an Ak47 into the air...
A UK registers office makes more sense. If you’re planning on divorce it doesn’t really matter where you got married.

Many people cohabit without being married but it does carry risks. If your partner is getting accommodation provided it makes sense to be married, and of course she can't sponsor you without being married.
You're referring to a Sharia wedding. But I don't think there's a wedding format recognised by the UAE that would still allow you to be recognised as not married in the UK. Do the registry wedding and have a big party at the pub of your choice afterwards.
