I’ve been offered a role in Qatar but as I have to "leave a car at the airport in Dubai" !! I am unsure if I can return to the GCC area ?

I’ve heard rumours but no confirmation that if you now goto any GCC after being banned from the UAE you will be arrested and deported back to the UAE - but i cannot find any ruling on this as a fact, there is just hearsay on the web forums - is it true or not ??

So if there is any risk of getting lynched in Qatar then I’ll pass the job by, if I can work there with no hassle then I might take it ??

Are the banks like HSBC linked in the GCC ??? as they are not linked from UAE to UK - just a thought ?

Any advice please post it.

no one car which was in the police impound yard was featured in "wheels" so I guess this one has a new owner and the Pajero i have no idea where this car is - but it was left outside the HSBC branch on the day of leaving the country !!
I can tell you although the cars have been sold (one confirmed) they have not deducted this off the amount owed !!
I left in 2010 !!

Of course they didn't deduct it. If you'd read the terms and conditions of the loan agreements here, you'd realise that they won't accept collateral as settlement. It's cash or they bounce the security cheque.

I'm sensing a trend here. You want your girlfriend to get a job as a highly paid wealth manager and now this. Sounds like you can't live within your means.

I think you wouldn't face an issue in terms of the UAE debt in Qatar, but if you ever needed to travel to the UAE on work, I can't see your boss being too happy to find out. And then you might have to do another runner, this time from Qatar after being sacked.

Just change your name by deedpoll and apply for another passport. You can then come back here without problems

Am I right in thinking it's not so easy to do that from Qatar - do you not need permission or something before exiting? Can't quite remember if that's right or not...
