Can anyone in Marketing or Sales
 
tell me why in dubai a lot of companies don't know the difference between the two?

I see a lot of marketing jobs which look interesting... and reading through the description it actually is a sales manager position not a brand/marketing manager... am i searching under the wrong thing?

no one understands the difference between sales / marketing / PR and advertising.

it is so annoying having 250 results returned just to find out that they're all sales jobs... but agreed on the PR and advertising front as well... i just saw a job for a marketing, sales PR and advertising specialist... isn't that a contradiction?

preferrably client based. marketing in an agency over there seems to be mixed with KAM's for some reason... i'm just staggered by the level of confusion... but then I suppose when marketing became the thing that businesses had to have, a lot of businesses have no idea what we do... just know that they need it lol.

We have guys whose titles say Business Development but,they're just glorified sales representatives...And when they head to their cars while sliding down the fire shaft,they tell you that they're going marketing...

:lol: the "business development executive" is starting to be the fancy term used for sales/account executives in the uk now as well... maybe it's spreading
