Buying phone Saudi Arabia

Would it be cheaper to buy phone here in the UK before I go out or wait till I get to Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Should tell you I have been quite happy with cheapo Nokia and laptop. Guess it's time to be dragged out of the dark ages.
Thanks in advance as they say.

My husband bought an iPhone in Saudi and it didn't have FaceTime, which is standard Apple feature for video chatting, the omission was deliberate for the Saudi released phones. It had not been included so as to preserves ones morality I guess. So my advice is to buy before leaving UK. the price was no cheaper in Saudi for iPhone.

Thank you so much Work Widow. I will do exactly as you advise. Surprised at this policy since surely Saudi would want me to buy the phone there? Most people are desperate to keep in touch with family.

Smartphones at Jarir Bookstore

Have a look at Jarir Bookstore, for their selections and prices as an example to see how they compare. The other consideration is the models were a little behind what was currently available in the West.

Thank you Work Widow. Such a rush to get ready, get house in UK sorted and other commitments. Should have tackled earlier.

Phones in Saudi aren't more expensive or lower quality, IME, plus they often have dual SIMs.

Thanks Gobobo. Have bought now in UK. Sort of happy with purchase. A lot to get used to when I was quite happy with punching the numbers in on my old Nokia, but that's another story
