Buy a Palm Villa?

Buy a Palm Villa?
My wife and I are looking into buying a Garden Villa on the Palm Jumeirah. Does this make good financial sense? Are the prices of these villa's still expected to rise, year on year? Or are the prices inflated, and expected to plateau or fall?
Thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Buy a Palm Villa?
My personal opinion is I would wait and see before buying on the Palm. The market for villas is much stronger than for apartments, but the Palm villas still haven't been tested. I haven't followed their prices as closely as others, so I would need to see how the market reacts to them before buying. And also, maintenance fees for Palm island villas might turn out to be very expensive.

Remember that the average palm villa is going for Dh10m plus. I think the Palm is an interesting one.

Re: Buy a Palm Villa?
The problem is the secondary market for a Dh16m villa is a lot smaller than the secondary market for a Dh3m villa.
Personally - having seen them - I wouldn't pay close to that much. And if I'd bought off plan I'd be pretty pissed off at my living space being reduced.

In that case everybody will need a cat (blue or otherwise!) and we will have solved the skip-cat problem in Dubai at a stroke. We might even need to start importing them!
