Default Burj Khalifa Observation Deck at night...

Is it worth going at night? The Mother-in-Law is here from overseas and we want to find some things to do this evening. I thought of BK, but it will be dark by the time we get there...

Thanks.

Take her on a boat from the Marina. Either the 1 hr captain jack cruise for 60chips each, or the 4 hour catamaran by Bristol Charter for 200dh. Vouchers in the Entertainer.

Took my family up there at dusk--thought it was worthwhile, although they were a bit bored after waiting for me waiting for the right degree of darkness for the pics...

I wasn't actually going to go (I don't like heights), but glad I did. Be a shame to come here and not to take the opportunity to go up the tallest building in the world.

The musical fountain as viewed from Souk Al Bahar opposite BK is very nice at night. Hopefully the Civil Defence aren't still restricting access to the Mall following the food court fire earlier today.

Yes but don't you agree that it's somewhat of a con as you only get a view from less than half way up the tower. I suspect there are other places in Dubai where you can get an equally good view without paying through the nose for the privilege.

Actually a bit higher than half-way up, but admittedly only just (452m out of 830m). Is there a building which allows a higher view? I doubt it. Anyway, it felt a bloody long way up and as if you were looking down over all of Dubai.

Because it's not everyday you go on a boat and they are cool. Going to a tall building and looking at the ground for entertainment has to be the most boring thing I can think of doing.

Take a boat out at night and look back at Dubai under the stars. It is really nice, especially if you have the boat to yourself - which this time of year is very possible without having to book it privately.

Different folks / strokes I guess.

Always been on and around boats so doesn't make my balls tingle too much.

Want to go on one of them fancy boat planes though.

I've always had a thing for those, too. Was going to take the trip when my family was out, but for four people it was too much. I'd definitely do it somewhere where the view was worthing seeing.

Yeah I've not done it for the same reason - cost.

Oh and my old man did it and I've seen the pics of Dubai from the air and it's as you guess - so, so.
