Brunch madness

Re: Brunch madness
Best not to go/or take kids (if you want them to sit quietly for 3 hours that is) to such places.......I wouldn't because i don't think it is fair on my kid either....... It is not bad behaviour, completely normal for kids/toddlers to find it hard to sit still for more than 30 min at a stretch
agree, there is nothing worse than badly behaved children...

That's fine - I meant it's not fair taking the kid to a gathering of friends, kid is ignored and then everyone expecting him to be an angel. I've seen it happen and my sympathies are with the kids......

Sounds great. Must try the place then, I didn't know they had such child friendly places in Dubai!

Re: Brunch madness
I last went to an Al Qasr brunch the Friday before Xmas. We all ate so many oysters and drank so many mojitos that I think we probably did OK.
I don't remember seeing roast pork and that used to be a highlight of the Mina Salam brunch. I agree that the price has increased a lot over the past year - from Dhs 299 to Dhs 385 is a 28% hike!
There are plenty of other brunches at lower prices, but visitors have always enjoyed the Madinat ones, especially when you can sit outside.

Re: Brunch madness
We had the cooked salmon with potatos and a small water at IKEA for 27d today, but still an increase from last week. The roast chicken also up from 21d to 25d but still good value in my view. The nice all-inclusive Thai dinner on Tues/Thur/Sat with free booze at Blue Elephant up 10d to 149d...cannot really complain. Excellent value for families is still the traditional mega-burger with chips and salad bar at Fuddruckers for 25d...

Salmon and water? No wonder you're such a fat blob if you eat that sort of stodge........
OK - more seriously - I'm in Dubai next w/e (night out 24th, staying till early 26th). The Bored will now bear witness:
"The Dean hereby invites Mata Hari to join him for the Good Fellas brunch in downtown Bur Dubai next Friday lunchtime. The aforesaid Mata Hari may enjoy the delights of pork sausages, pork bacon, baked beans, fried eggs, black pudding, fried bread, etc. The price includes five alcoholic beverages. All costs to be met by The Dean. All food and drink, to the maximum allowed, may be consumed by Mata Hari."
Just reply, indicating your acceptance.
I suspect there might be an audience.........
