Hi All,

As you know that new website gov.uk is launched with all the procedures and guidelines on how to renew and apply for british passport.

All applications now to be sent to UK office directly.

I am based in Qatar and applying for my baby new british passport.
They are asking us to send all our other ORIGNAL passports and national id cards with the application.

I am just curious to find out if it is safe to send my other nationality orignal passports and NICs via DHL? Is there a special service available from DHL to take care of passport applications.

DHL you can track everything and you should be safe. I just used them to send marriage certificate here, took 3 days and minimum of fuss. Cost about £35 all in.

yes they are safe, you trust them with your passport so why any other docs would be any different. dhl in uae have a special deal with the embassy here at a reduced rate, can you imagine how many times they look after passports for just the uk renewals here in the time that they have to be sent to germany, now is no different apart from back to the uk.

dhl have a special passport service for sending these types of documents - each document is logged in their system and it is fully trackable and secure as they are not sent with other 'normal' packages but are separated and undergo additional security requirements.

Make sure that you ask for this service.

They also offer a service for expediting visas. I am not sure if thjis is available everywhere but it certyainly is in KSA. Saves all the hassle of going to Embassies etc.

If you quoted 'DHLBP' when sending your documents, you used to get a flat rate discount when sending them to Düsseldorf. Not sure if it still applies now, but worth asking.
