Default British Justice v Iran Justice,

Well i suppose there is no real comparason is there.

Iranian Justice:-
Chocolate robber in Iran to have hand chopped off
An Iranian court has condemned a man convicted of robbing chocolates and cocoa from a Tehran pastry shop to have a hand chopped off, Fars news agency reported.

An Iranian court has condemned a man convicted of robbing chocolates and cocoa from a Tehran pastry shop to have a hand chopped off, Fars news agency reported on Saturday.

Judge Mohammad Reza Giyuki, quoted in the report, also sentenced the 21-year-old man, whose identity was not revealed, to six months in prison for damaging the shop and another six months for "disobeying police."

Fars said police arrested him on May 29 and found in his possession $900 worth of cash, three pair of gloves, chocolate and cocoa.

The Islamic sharia laws of Iran lay down amputation as punishment for repeated thefts.

Cases of amputation have been increasing due to a rise in robberies on the back of growing poverty in Iran. Last week, Tehran amputated a hand of a man found guilty of two robberies in the northeastern holy city of Mashhad.

Depends on whether one wishes to commit a crime and get away with it on the basis of "Human Rights" or get punished for it, albeit in a harsh way.

Two extremes in my opinion.

But an additional 6 months for disobeying a policeman is a real human rights issue.

I know which judicial system I would trust more to serve Justice if I was wrongly accused of a crime.

Britain is a soft touch it's well known - it doesn't even let it's law abiding citizes defend themselves with weapons. I think however if we looked at the US, where this sort of thing would be punished severely we'd get a better comparison.
