I think it was initially a burst tyre late in the take-off roll and they aborted the take off but had to brake heavily to bring it to a halt before running out of strip.....and as a result collapsed the nosegear.
Aircraft are normally somewhat lighter when they land (less fuel) and so less weight transfered to nose when braking - let alone heavy emergency braking. Different kettle of fish doing it fully loaded before flying anywhere.

Could happen to any airline as well.
