Best Bank to Join in Qatar
 

Good Morning,

I'll be moving to Qatar next week and my employer has kindly asked which bank I would prefer to open an account with in Qatar. I've done a few searches and spoke to a few expats I know over there who are banking with, and recommend the Commercial Bank of Qatar. I hear there's rewards to use at the malls and other places and add-ons such as airport lounge access which helps if I fly often, which I might.

Others have mentioned HSBC so I can link and transfer back to the UK and the National Bank of Qatar. I've been told to look for one which allows Riyal-Riyal transfers, which I assume most would?

Any opinions/suggestions are welcome.

I've used Commercial bank for a good few years and had no issues. Decent online service, responsive to my support requests, plenty of branches, salary was generally a day ahead of colleagues with other banks but YMMV.
