Dubai: The United Arab Emirates' central bank said a gang of fraudsters hacked into a bank's automated teller machine and copied users' credit-card data over a seven-day period.
Banks must replace cards or change personal identification numbers of all those who used the machine between February 19 and February 25, a statement on the Abu Dhabi-based central bank's website dated February 28 said.
The statement didn't name the bank or the location of the cash machine where the fraud occurred."

Re: Bank hacked.....again
Speaking of banks and money, what, in everyone's experience here, is the most cost-effective way to transfer money out of the country? I'm with HSBC but I have a feeling their fees are a bit high. I have only been in AD for 3 months now and haven't transferred any dough yet but wanted to say what the experience of all the verterans here was. Thanks.

Meow can help, but only if you have more than about £10,000 to transfer. Otherwise HSBC tend to screw you on the exchange rate rather than the fees, so watch out for that. Al Rostamani Forex seem to have quite a good name in Dubai- branches in lots of the shopping malls.
Have to say I usually just do internet transfers with HSBC because it is easy and the money gets there in a couple of hours- and I transfer a whole lot less than £10,000 at a time!
