There is a museum which (I think) has been moved to a new building. It's very good but has (IIRC) a military emphasis (RAF in WWII etc).

Just drive around and stop when you feel like it - it's an attractive island, with a slightly Caribbean feel.

Club 1 (formerly F1) and Hotel California are both interesting places to go.

Any wholesome clubs - if yes then let me know but if there are some sordid ones then give me the worst - I am broad minded (narrow walleted).

I'm looking forward to this. I went to Dubai a couple of weeks ago and was impressed by people who liked it.

Have a job offer from Kuwait which really is a nice place - but meanwhile stopovers from India is a nice way to see more of the world . Americans do the same but by way of invasion.

I suspect that a museum with an RAF theme would have a military emphasis you know.

There is an Australian theme bar near the gold souk called Diggers, the band is always good in there and it always gets full after 10pm.

The museum is very good - has a lot of info on local culture and the ancient history (dilmun). There are at least two very well preserved forts too but you'll need to go with someone who knows the place as there is almost no signposting and info.

You can go to see ancient burial mounds from 3,000 years ago too.

There is a lovely area of independent restaurants in Manama.

For leisure there is a big water park opened near the 'tree of life' (quite a few people believe that the story of adam and eve came from a sumerian myth about bahrain)
