Bahrain - Girly questions :)
One for the ladies
Can someone please give me an idea on the cost of MAC in Bahrain. I noticed there's a store in Manama - are the prices similar to US? Is all the MAC stock available?
Also what other brands are easy to get over there? Prescriptives, Nars, Stila etc? Are there items that are hard to get in Bahrain/Middle East that I should stock up on to bring with me?
Lastly, I understand regarding dress that everything needs to be conservative and modest especially during the day and I've been told to drive everywhere, but would a loose maxi dress with pashmina wrapped around shoulders/arms covering chest be ok? The other arrival option I have is an ankle length skirt and shirt/top that covers shoulders but not arms, so would use pashmina as greater arm/chest coverage.
TIA

You will find MAC at:
M·A·C
Seef Mall
Seef District
P.O Box 26910
Manama
Tel: 973 966 8788
It really isn't that conservative - bear legs and arms are OK, although you may get ogled. You may be well advised to start by dressing conservatively and then find your own comfort level as you get used to the country.
Good luck. Welcome to the Board.

Re: Bahrain - Girly questions :)
You want girly information about Bahrain?
OK here goes..........
The Chinese girlies hang out at the Tylos Hotel. They are very obliging, if not always exceptionally pretty, but for the right price, they do ANYTHING......
There are fewer Russian girlies around these days, but they are still to be found at the Phoenicia (where about ten of them knock on your hotel room door within ten minutes of you checking in).
If it's African girlies you want, the Baisan International Hotel has plenty, but staff patrol the corridors so discretion is advised.
I hope this helps.........

Stop worrying about make up, I bet there is more in Bahrain than there is in London Your dress style seems fine. The last time I was in Bahrain I wore a pair of shorts and tee shirt and went shopping! so I don't think it is as strict as people are making it out to be to you
Everyone else - thanks for your most helpful information I think I may stick to my original thoughts and email MAC myself. I did already state that I knew a store existed there....

By the way shakh your bootie, I definitely don't need any bowing down to. I'm certainly not a 'lady who lunches' and am quite capable of working my arse off to get what I want/need. I just thought that there may have been some more helpful locals
