Applebys
Tried Applebys the other day. Dull, dull and more dull.
For starters I don't tend to hang out at places that don't serve booze. Also I don't tend to hang out at places that are occupied mainly by locals who are more often than not accompanied by screaming wild brats.
No I am not opposed to locals at all, I just don't appreciate pierced ear drums and kids screaming around my table whilst trying to eat.
The food was ok...just ok, service was pretty good. It was pokey, seedy or I am a snob
Hard Rock beats it hands down for fast fodder.

Re: Applebys
Face, JC and myself went there last night, thought the food was pretty good!!
My only complaint was that they bought out the main course while we were still halfway through the starters!
It would seem the staff have so little to do, that they rush around getting everything done when someone does come in, so it felt like we were sat by a food conveyor belt.!
but i have to admit, it would be a tad bit better if you could have a drink there !!

What's Appleby's then? I was in Dubai the other day but only for an hour so nipped out of the airport, saw my sister and went for a quick spin in my mates caterham & which I hadn't seen yet!
Didn't really have time to go for a coffee and falafel sandwich!

Re: Applebys
My wife and I visited Applebies on SZR just after it opened, we had the same complaint halfway thru the starter they arrived with the main course, the waiter smiled a lot but it was obvious he either heard or understood only half of what we were saying as we had to repeat everything. The upstairs room was dark and noisy with little kids even at 11pm.
The food at Chillis is much better if you like 'american family dining' without alcohol.
How come we don't have an Outback in Dubai yet? I miss their 'blooming onions'

"If he has a Toyota engine in it then it's not original and he has put it in separately, why he wud do that I don't know and if he actually has then he must be a bore cos Toyota is a bore !!
Also the only engines u can get from new are the K series 1.4 Rover in the Caterham Classic, K series Rover 1.6 & 1.8 in the Roadsport, SV and Superlight.
The Cosworth engine has just come out with 260 BHP and if he was a real man he wud have that."
