I usually find KLM pretty good for flights from the North of England, but you do have to change in Amsterdam.

a buddy of mine's friends flew from UK to DXB on Royal Brunei for pretty cheap
then again, their flight home was delayed for...12 hours!

Dubai never looked so good from the air! Wot a view as i flew in..... twas literally sparkling! i loved it! And i have to admit that i have NEVER seen it like that before. Good thing it was dark..... all the sand was well hidden.

We generally fly Etihad- they seem to be a good mix of short flight and cheap fares! You can find cheaper flights but Etihad fly from Heathrow to Abu Dhabi and then it's just a short bus ride into Dubai, dropping off near Defense Roundabout. It's as good as direct but you can find flights for as little as £240 (and that's during school holidays...). Other cheap flights leave you hanging around random airports for hours.

Thanks everybody, the Sept flights r fr my MIL and new hubby....I guess I could face leaving her hanging around an airport for a few hours tee hee
The others are for my lovely parents, who r saints for putting up with me, I wouldn't leave them hanging around anywhere....only the best LOL
....and no I will still be out dancing when they are here, they normally stay a month or so
