Any Muscat members??
 

My company has approached me with a stunning offer to move to Muscat.

I am already aware that Muscat life is sedentary in comparison to Dubai life but, after 5 years here, could do with putting my feet up for a year or two.

Anyone I could fire some questions at about the more mundane aspects of moving to Oman from UAE?

Be aware, there really ain't much to do here. If you enjoy wining and dining, you will be out of ideas after 2 weeks.

The best thing about here is (during the Winter) access to the mountains and wadi's. But if you're not into that....you can always alternate between the various amazing shopping experiences here :blink:

Oh yes, there is an 80's night at the Intercontinental on the 19th with Pat Sharpe.

The Script will be here in November

...apparently there is also a sale on at The Homecentre soon.

That should also help pass 30 minutes or so.

Yep, have trawled thru as much as I can stomach of OmanForum, but there is barely any of the 'need to know' stuff that you can access here..

At least its only an hour flight from Dubai then...

What I am wondering about are things like 'Can I take my car, still with HSBC loan on it, down to MCT, and keep it there?', 'With my DXB licence, do I NEED to go to ROP for an Omani licence?', 'Decent plaes to stay around Ghala / Ghibrah? etc etc etc...
