What you doing medinah? I was working there a few times last year on the airport. I might go back albeit infrequently.

To be honest, I never saw any brits when I was there. Probably holed up in some compounds somewhere...??

You have to be a Muslim to be allowed to live in either Mecca or Medinah, so not too surprising that few Brits are there.

only restrictions in the centre of medina i think

as for mecca you need a muslim salik tag to get past this baby

Correct. THere is a wall and marked posts where non-muslims are not allowed during Hajj. In non-hajj periods non-muslims are allowed within that area but not into the central mosque area.

There are (if I recall) some areas outside the walled / marked area that appear to be compounds for ex-pats.

Either way, good luck to any non-muslim ex-pat who lives there. I wouldn't want to be there for more than a week at a time... (no dis-respect to anyone who likes Medinah - it's just not my cup of tea).
