American Int'l. School in Dubai
 

Hello, there! Does anybody know anything about this school? I would be interested in anything you can tell me. Like, do you know anybody who works there? Do you know what it is like...what the curriculum is like? What kind of accomodations they provide their teachers? Thanks so much for any help!

Never heard of it...but I do know of the Dubai American Academy and Sharjah American International School. Do your own internet research.

Are you asking about the "American International School in Dubai" or an American international school in Dubai :)? There are two schools with similar names and a few other "American" schools in Dubai.

American International School Dubai is US and UAE curriculum which means mostly UAE and/or Arab students.
American School of Dubai is the original American school in Dubai that most North Americans send their students to if they can get them in. Majority of students and teachers would regard it as the best place to go for US education.

Other US curriculum schools to consider:

Universal American School is US curriculum but IB qualification, probably a decent enough second choice if you don't want AP
Dubai American Academy is also US but IB qualification. Would be my second choice after ASD if AP not necessary.
Mizhar American Academy for Girls - worth considering but girls only. They do AP.
Bradenton Academy Dubai - new school opening September 2009, run by BA in Florida. Should be good.

Most other schools in Dubai with "American" in the name or a "US" curriculum wouldn't be rated as highly as the above list.
