I've just come out of a meeting with a senior captain at Emirates. He was receiving ongoing updates and confirmed there are no serious casualties. Too early to determine the cause.
Emirates pilots are working close of maximum hours and they are short of pilots, plus the airline has over-extended in many ways. This might be a wake up call on safety issues.

A flight from Thiruvananthapuram eh? I can assure you that they all moved out in completely orderly fashion as people from that region are known for knowing how to stand in a que 
But in all seriousness I think the cabin crew did an awesome job in getting everyone out safely.
I am confused by the pics. Was it close to the terminal building or was it on the runway?
