Alcohol in Oman ?
Hi guys ,
I was wondering how can I get alcohol in Oman , I don't want to have to go to a hotel every time I want to get buzzed
and one more thing , I don't have a license to buy alcohol , would I get in trouble if I want to buy some ?
I had two bottles of JW Black Label from the Duty-free but they're about to run out now
any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

If you don't have an alcohol licence then you can't buy from the legal outlets. Your only legal option therefore is hotel bars/restaurants.
Will you get into trouble if you're caught breaking the law? What would you think?

You don't want to go to a hotel and you don't want to get a license,...maybe you are waiting for the booze fairies to arrive.

Now that's a defeatist attitude if ever I heard one. The thing is that it's no good just saying that you want to be a non-drinker (or non-smoker or whatever). You actually have to really want to stop drinking (or smoking or whatever). I used to smoke (far too much) and always used to say that I wanted to be a non-smoker but I never stopped because I never truly wanted to stop smoking. It wasn't until I decided that I REALLY wanted to stop smoking that I finally did.
At the moment, though, I haven't decided that I want to stop drinking

There were some publications in the times of Oman about a possible ban of alcohol all together in Oman. I wonder how true this is and if it has a basis.
