Re: Alcohol consumption
Yeah agreed they prob get more freedom than what they would get at home, as in general it is safer here, as we dont have this crazy knife and gang culture, but there are other dangers, which have to be monitored, curfews of some of my sons friends are 1am and 2am, i sound like an old woman now, but i think midnight for a 17 year old is more than sufficient, or maybe i am being an old woman, ?????

My daughter reckons the 9pm "watershed" on British telly is meant to indicate the time parents are supposed to go to bed, leaving the kids free to watch the 'adult' stuff uninterrupted.............

Re: Alcohol consumption
Please dont drink and drive! My son lost one of his best friends on Thursday evening, she was in the car of a drunk driver, he survived and is in jail and in serious trouble.
It is illegal to have even one drink and drive, you will find yourself in jail immediately, doubt you will be deported though! But your company could fire you if they wanted to be assy
Its not worth it, cabs are cheap as chips compared to Europe

But I think I won't be doing even my 500m any more

Re: Alcohol consumption
Thanks to all girls here ... appreciate that. My 'excuse' if any, is that me and wife mainly go to Budha Bar or Barasti; it's just 500m from JBR and I drive real slow if I had any drinks. I don't drive like Sheikh Zayed or any major roads (other than these few hundred meters to JBR) so I am kind a thinking that it was not that bad A taxi to home would be AED5.
