Re: Alcohol consumption
One thought mentioned by a Muslim friend - to say you are an atheist will not go down well with anyone who is religiously devout. Apostasy is possibly the worst sin in Islam and technically carries a mandatory death penalty for a male though some schools propose imprisonment as a female (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostasy_in_Islam).
Though there is some joking around on here, I don't believe anyone on this forum would seriously advocate a Muslim should renounce their religion.

This topic made me think about it; I've never had a policeman stopping me so far ... I'll take taxi from now on.

Re: Alcohol consumption
I regularly go out, always drink and drive (very slow though - 30-40 km/hr) and have parties ... I think I could be in trouble!? Someone mentioned here that drink and drive is for sure deportation? Is that absolutely correct? Anyone who pratices law?

Re: Alcohol consumption
... just got back ... a friend of mine, a Muslim from a country where alcohol, pork and sex is part of normal life ... declared himself here as a Christian and got the licence. Interestingly his name is a Muslim name (perhaps not Mohammad) bt as you said there is nothing in passport .... just don't deeclare yourself as an Atheist! In any case I would not recommend it; rather ask someone to buy you whatever you want and have it at your home. In bars, I can't really see police here coming to bars and checking people fo what faith they are?

It is illegal to have even one drink and drive, you will find yourself in jail immediately, doubt you will be deported though! But your company could fire you if they wanted to be assy
Its not worth it, cabs are cheap as chips compared to Europe

Re: Alcohol consumption
Please dont drink and drive! My son lost one of his best friends on Thursday evening, she was in the car of a drunk driver, he survived and is in jail and in serious trouble.
